30.06.2022r

The first edition of our research program “Light of Science” for high school students has come to an end. It’s time for summaries!

165 hours of theoretical classes and workshops in the professional laboratory at Łukasiewicz – PORT.

33 meetings dedicated to photonics and materials chemistry.

36 participants.

6 Wrocław high schools: Adam Mickiewicz High School No. III in Wrocław, High School No. V in Wrocław, K.K. Baczyński High School No. VII, Bolesław Chrobry High School No. XII in Wrocław, Polonia Belgijska High School No. XIV, and Bilingual High School EKOLA at EKOLA School Complex.

Under the guidance of experts from the Łukasiewicz – PORT Institute, young scientists had the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience and conduct experiments in a professional laboratory. They independently produced aspirin, artificial blood, and mixtures of liquid crystals. They also learned the basics of electron spectroscopy and the construction of liquid crystal displays. The “Light of Science” program is implemented by the PORT Center for Technological Education – Gardens of Experiences in cooperation with the PORT Foundation of Polish Center for Technology Development and OSRAM OptoSemiconductors Sdn. Bhd. After the holidays, we will resume the “Light of Science” program and invite high school students to participate in the next edition!
